RivaNET delivers a technology audit together with several infrastructure projects to enhance IT provision at Wellingborough School.
With an aging IT estate, RivaNET identified a critical need for a full systems refresh to ensure the school has a robust infrastructure, capable of delivering high quality learning support across the campus. The RivaNET Technology Audit enabled Wellingborough to quantify the full scope of their existing IT, and identify and prioritise critical upgrade projects as part of a multi year roadmap for technology improvements.
The foundation was a network upgrade, with the delivery of OM4 fibre cabling from their central IT facility to every building on the campus, with Ruckus Brocade switches.
This was complimented with enhanced wifi technology using Ruckus wireless access points. Cloudpath manages device onboarding, and provides secure wireless connectivity for any authorised pupil and staff devices.
Servers and storage have been optimised, with over 20 physical servers being migrated to a DellEMC virtualised environment. In the long term this will improve reliability and flexibility, whilst reducing Wellingborough’s IT costs.
